I have to be honest, this contains the BEST fitness center in all of Abbotsford, especially from a student's perspective! My institution's U-Pass allows free access to the gym, and it has basically everything that anyone would need!

It has all the essential machines, racks, free weights, and cardio equipment that one would need in their fitness journey, whether they are a beginner or a professional trainer.

I also love the ample amount of space in the gym! It even has an indoor walking track; that's how much space there is!

If going to the gym is not your cup of tea, or you simply desire to do something else, then you may always partake in many of the other activities offered here. There are so many different recreational activities provided by the centre, it would make this review too long if I could name them all; some of the notable ones I can think of are swimming, ice skating, and basketball!

The staff are really friendly and helpful whenever you require assistance with anything. I always appreciate all kinds of effort by the staff towards making the rec centre homely and welcoming.

My only regret is that I didn't take any suitable pictures that showed the rec centre alone. Too busy working out I suppose! Hopefully, when I'm able to edit my review some other time, I'll definitely post them!

Pool sucks. Moved here from maple ridge and they have a beautiful swimming area with three different pools that are each bigger by their own compared to the one pool here. I honestly wish they had more space to swim, it get so crowded. The reception was also rude and charged me more than was needed because they didn’t listen to me when I told them my age.

A busy Rec centre with so many amenities.
The front desk staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Drop in for under 25, over 25, only using the shower, or classes. They all have different rates, so check the website.
Many amenities available with a rotating schedule. I love going to workout, skate and sauna.

Indoors there's a nice clean pool with a deep end for diving, a hot tub and a kiddie's wading pool. There are several private family changing rooms which tend to be a bit warmer than the public change area.
Fully equipped gym upstairs.
Skating rinks. Nice little privately run concession serving fries, sandwiches and the usual fare. Fries are huge and delicious. Highly recommend it for sharing with your little one or even another adult, they're that big!

Big hardwood gym for drop in basketball etc. 5-630 daily in summer.

Outdoors is our favorite place to shoot a few hoops as there's usually one available. Have a picnic on the tables or grass under the shady trees.

SKATEBOWL is an awesome place to bring your scooters and boards so you can practice those skills in a safe environment. The crowd here is friendly and respectful, I've never seen any fighting or disrespectful behaviour here although we usually leave when it gets dark. Closes at 10pm anyway.

Not a feature exactly, but the stairs on the outside south wall are fun to climb up and down. You can see into the rink from the top too.

Abby Rec Centre has been a family favorite for two generations. Our three daughters belonged to the Abbotsford Whalers Summer Swim Club back in the 90s and this is where they swam until Centennial outdoor pool was open at Mill Lake Park. The city has done a nice job of updating the facilities here over the 30 years we've been coming.

Public skating for this season was cancelled without any announcement except online. Why when weight room will not be available for a while there's a poster about it in its entrance at least a week before this. Why public skating cancelled different way? Had bad experience again by wasting my time driving there😡😡😡

Went to watch my grandson play ball hockey.

The venue is clean. You must enter from the main entrance. I pushed my granddaughter in a stroller up the wheelchair ramp, only to find all the doors locked. Someone saw us and opened the door from the inside.

This is an amazing facility, including a pool, ice rink, gym, track — plus childcare so parents can do a workout.
