Bought a balloon flight voucher from this company through Surprise Factory as a special gift, only to discover that there were no flights available for nearly eight months, with the earliest availability pushed out to April 2025. We tried booking in August 2024, expecting a reasonable wait, but nowhere was it communicated that we’d need to wait almost a year. When we requested a refund due to the absurd delay, the response from the company was disappointing.

They refused to issue a full refund, claiming they had administrative fees and other costs tied to Surprise Factory. Instead, they offered only half the refund value, as if their poor planning and lack of transparency were somehow our fault. It’s not the customer's responsibility to cover fees or costs incurred by a company’s inadequate service—especially when they fail to mention the extensive wait time upfront.

We’re moving out of the country at the end of the year, so waiting for a flight next April isn’t even an option. We purchased this experience in good faith, expecting clear information and timely service, but were met with indifference and a lack of accountability. For anyone considering this company, beware: they may not honor your booking within a reasonable time frame, nor will they take responsibility for their failure to deliver as promised.

Update from November: They first agreed to refund 115€, after some negotiations and a request to remove my negative review they agreed to refund 180€ of the original price of 231€.

I didn't change my opinion on above, so here I am posting it again. I'm not satisfied with the refund.

Na 3 jaar konden we eindelijk in de lucht en het was echt het wachten waard. Gisteren vanuit Landen opgestegen met de ballon van Belair. Prachtige vaart gehad. Zachte landing.
Het was een uurtje genieten hoog in de lucht ! Bedankt.

Flight of one hour in Tienen was great. First short intro and safety instructions. Soft take off and landing + champagne after landing. We were 8 in the basket and that was ok, more would have been crowded. Afterwards we were brought back to the starting point.

We hebben onze vlucht ook enkele keren moeten voorzetten doordat het weer niet optimaal was, maar het weer kan je nu eenmaal niet bestellen 🙂 communicatie per mail kan soms wat traag verlopen, maar als je zelf even belt, ben je meteen en vriendelijk geholpe. Een zomer later is het ons gelukt om mee te varen, en wat een fijne ervaring! Een heel rustgevende ballonvaart met af en toe een woordje uitleg, afgesloten met een drankje en heel lekkere ontbijtkoeken. Voor ons de perfecte start van onze zondag én de perfecte afsluiter van het zomerseizoen. Bedankt Jonas!
