This small but well-used park is tucked into a green corner of the Marpole neighbourhood. From the welcoming entry plaza, step down into a shady retreat filled with trees and flowering shrubs; children enjoy both the playground and the central grassy area.

Named in 1991 for William Mackie whose family once owned the property (in the early 1900s) where the park now sits. Mackie was a prominent Vancouver pioneer, gold miner and lumberman.

This park is also home to the Marpole museum in a heritage house which is worth a visit if it is open.

The park is now right next to the arbutus bike and pedestrian path on the former railway right of way.

A good spot that's not busy. Quiet and lots of shade. Play ground is older but still good for a younger child.

It's not well maintained most of the time, it has the basics for a small park. Small field, couple of tables and benches, small playground and half court basketball that the net needs replacing since people regularly play there. There is a spot on the court side of the basketball court that's very dangerous where there is a steep decline and if you run after the ball may cause serious injury. They should put some sort of cage on that side at the very least. Sometimes there are unsavory characters just around the area, that's why I don't bring my kid here.

William Mackie park is usually a busy park. Tons of kids under 10 pretty much always. Attaches to the bikeway, arbutus corridor South of 71st, and has a basketball court. The city of Vancouver is proposing a park renovation. All the park needs is a better play structure (bigger better slides) and a bathroom.

Great for kids to run around in. Circular track for my son to cycle round on. Watch out for dog poop, it's not a dog park but always seems to have dogs off leash.
